Henning Patzner

Henning Patzner (born 1973) is a trainer specializing in the creative process, innovation and storytelling. He facilitates idea generation workshops and gives seminars on topics such as techniques for activating creativity, design thinking, storytelling and innovation management. His trainings are offered online or in person. With over 20 years of professional experience, he is still active as a freelance creative director.
Henning Patzner worked for several years as creative managing director at the Serviceplan Group, the largest owner-operated advertising agency in Europe. Before that, he worked for many years as a copywriter and creative director for other creative advertising agencies such as Jung von Matt, Saatchi and Grabarz. In total, he managed over 75 top brands. He is also the co-developer of many well-known marketing campaigns and digital concepts.
At advertising festivals, he has won over 150 creative prizes and awards. Among them are the prestigious Cannes Lions and a Gold Effie. He is also a member of the renowned Art Directors Club Germany (ADC) and a frequent juror in national award shows.
After an internship as a banker, he graduated from the University of Bayreuth in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He then moved on to attend the Munich Film Academy, where he graduated with a master’s in Production & Media Management.
Henning Patzner is the author of the book CREATIVE EXPLOSION. He is a certified Chief Innovation Manager at RWTH Aachen University, a certified Scrum Master and has been a professor at the University of Television and Film in Munich since December 2015. He lives with his family in Hamburg.
